The Other World Man
And so Weldon continued his travels through Ioda with his body guard Nathela. They travelled through the city and collected tales and notes for the book. Then they reached the Red Needle Inn and things got interesting. In the grand hall a rugged looking man called out to Weldon, "Hey, don't I know you!"
Weldon walked over to him with Nathela in toe. "Excuse me, who are you?"
"Weldon! It's Kenric, remember from the library!"
Suddenly a look of realisation came over him. "Kenric! What happened to you? Last time I saw you was when you decided to leave the library in search of treasure."
"It is a very long story..."
And so they talked and caught up. Then Kenric brought up a very important question.
"So what are you doing here?"
"Well, I'm writing my book on the world. Sort of a world guide."
"Well I know know another place that I could do something like that in."
"Hey, don't steal my idea!"
"I'm going to steal it but not on this world."
"Wait, what?"
"There's an Inn in Hero's Reach, The Infinite Gate. This place is unlike any other because it has a gate to other worlds! One of which, called Earth, tells things with moving pictures. And so I'm thinking of doing what your're doing but for them, with their 'movies' and 'YouTube'."
"Fine, you can do it. But I want credit and I want you to send me eagles about it"
"Deal."
Kenric grabs his hand and shakes it.
"Now how about a drink?"
This blog is all about my creation of the World of thraindhne. This is a fictional world that I have been thinking about making for sometime. On this site I will post a story from this world every week. I'll also be posting new ideas and features in this world as well. The, goal in the end, is that this world can be used as a campaign setting in D&D and be used my myself for a story. I hope you enjoy, give feedback, and subscribe.

Story #14: Gale the Mage
First Guest Post
Hello everyone. I plan to get back to doing more posts soon, at the latest near the end of June. Today, however, I would like to present the first story not written by myself to be posted on this blog. If you have a story from Thraindhne that you want posted just tell me. Now lets take a look at Lark Newton's second half, Gale....

Gale the Mage
by Ian Darragh
"Why have you done this to me?" he cried, waving his clenched fists at the empty, frigid air. "You sent me up here, and for what reason? You all believed that I was a threat to your ascension to archmagehood?" He kicked a small snowdrift in anger, and he watched as the flakes flew away on the fast, harsh wind.
"How will I be able to reach the base of this mountain? My magic is suppressed up here, by the three of you, and I'm too weak from the cold to climb down. What can I do?"
The mage sat down, and thought. He wondered aloud, "Did they enchant the peak?" Now, this mage, Gale, was stuck on this ridge, and he had been for three weeks now. He had never even conceived the idea of climbing higher, because it would make his (hopefully) eventual descent longer.
Gale stood up, and started walking up the mountain. His steps were shaky from the freezing wind, and he stumbled and fell several times. He eventually reached a small cliff, which he had to climb if he even wanted to get his magic back.
The mage started his way precariously up the cliff. His hands slipped almost immediately, and he was forced to make a second attempt. He succeeded on his third try, pulling himself up onto the ridge, wheezing.
He then felt a peculiar sensation. His arms felt less like they were about to fall off, and his breathing steadied. He remembered the feeling, the feeling that a mage could not forget: the rush of magic. He leaped straight up, pumping one fist into the air. He celebrated by creating a small globe of flame in his palm to warm him. It didn't do much to help him, but the little bit was helpful.
Gale could not descend, nor would he ascend. He had never bothered to learn how to teleport, which he sorely regretted now.
A thought struck him. But it couldn't possibly work. It was the most difficult spell that he had ever learnt in all of his years, but it was his only chance.
Gale started the spell. He drew forth a small knife from his boot, and a small emerald from his cloak pocket. He began chanting, tracing intricate designs in the air before him. The shapes floated in the open space for a moment, and then dissipated, one after the other.
Gale knew he had to end the spell. He raised the knife, and knowing that the pain was nothing compered to death. He plunged the blade into his thigh, and removed the blade, quickly continuing the spell, moving the emerald over the open wound.
He knew that it had worked when his vision started to fade. I knew that it would work., he thought, as his soul left his body.
Now, what Gale had attempted is very dangerous, and almost completely suicidal. But he succeeded, and his mind spun through all of the possible bodies that it could inhabit. He passed by a dozen possibilities, all of them infants, but one caught his attention.
It was a small boy, who would be a little short. Gale decided that this would be the body that he would enter. This would be his living body, who he would become.
When he entered the child's mind, back on the mountain, Gale's body began to crumble, the soul having found a new host. It faded away completely, until only his small emerald remained.
Inside of the boy's mind, Gale looked around. Well, he more of examined the child's mind. He had been heavily influenced by his parent's love of music, and would almost certainly pursue it.
"Yes, this should work." Gale said. "Welcome to the world, kid. You're Lark? I'm Gale, and I... wait. Why am I even here? Who was I, other than just Gale?"
Now, all of this happened inside of young Lark's mind, and it all happened about twenty years ago. Lark would later go on to, as Gale had predicted, pursue music, and become a bard. Gale and Lark learned to live with each other, with some small problems. But that is a tale for another time...

story #13 : Back to Weldon
Back to Weldon
The book had grown. Not a lot but it had grown. Already from one tavern and a boat ride to Ioda he had already gained a hand full of tales to add to his novel. But still he though, "Is that enough?". This was of course before the halfling trickster "stole" the half orc barbarian's nose.
Rule number one of adventuring: Don't try to be clever with a barbarian. They are usually too stupid to get the joke.
This would be one of Weldon's first, and not last, encounter of a bar fight. The barbarian flipped the table and lunged at the halfling. Suddenly the whole room suddenly erupted in chaos. Nobody knew who was fighting who. Weldon struggled to get out of the fray. Then there came a bottle. From out of the combat one bottle flew out and cracked Weldon on thew back of his head. Then there was darkness.
Or at least there would have been. However, just before the bottle hit him it was shot out of the air, literally. The arrow which pierced it came from her bow. Now I know what you are thinking, who is she? Well, that is a very long story. As you may remember I talked about the dark elves in my piece on the elves. I did however fail to add some very important details on them as a people. They have been demonised in Thraindhne, most people think dark elves are evil and mysterious people. There is much to this but I don't wish to go to deep into that now. Ned-less to say, she was not evil.
Weldon spun around to the sound of the bottle shattering behind him. He suddenly had to duck before a chair would take his head off. She rushed over to him and got him down before another bottle could land on him.
"Lets get you out of here before you get yourself killed" she hissed in his ear.
With her covering him Weldon exited the building unharmed. the whole time thinking to himself about how often this might happen. Once out side he turned to her and said, "Thank you very much, you saved me more then once back there. Have you ever thought about being a bodyguard?"
"Not really... how much are you willing to pay?". Weldon suddenly realised that she had a strange accent that he couldn't exactly place.
"Three gold pieces a day plus accommodations."
She grinned, "I'll take it.". She put out her hand to shake, "I'm Nathela. And you are?"
He shuck her hand, "Weldon."
"Well Weldon what are you doing that needs a bodyguard?"
"Well," he smiles, "That is a long story..."

Story #12: The fall of Shalfnah Lohne. P2
The fall of Shalfnah Lohne. Part 2
Many kingdoms fell to the beats. But the release of this godlike being united the kingdoms instead of divided them. The Orcs, Elves, and Gnomes fought the beats together. Their effort was, however, in vain. The beast had killed gods, a few hundred mortals was nothing.
Eventually the alliance broke up. Many tried to flee from the land and entered Thraindhne. But some stayed to fight. Eventually Death noticed the conflict on Shalfnah Lohne. He alerted the rest of the Primordials and gods. They came down and trapped the beats once more. This time, however, in a different location unknown to any living being.

story #11: The fall of Shalfnah Lohne. P1
Intro
Hello everyone, this shall be our 50th post. 🎉
We shall be getting back to Weldon next week, but today I shall answer a very important question. How did Shalfnah Lohne, the land of Gnomes, Elves, and Orcs, fall from grace? How did the disaster happen and who caused it? Well it is time to find out...
The fall of Shalfnah Lohne. Part 1
It all began before the land was created. The God War had ended and the great beast, which some had started to call the Tarasque, was sealed away under a world. And the gods sat and decided to build two more worlds and spread their people through them.
Now, Corheln believed the beast's prison to be secure and convinced the rest of the gods of this fact. They decided that they would place people of Corheln, Box'b, and Zelnfix on this world to keep the beast imprisoned. This was the first mistake.
And so, the world became known as Shalfnah Lohne, and it was ruled by Elves, Orcs, and Gnomes. But, like all creatures they fought. Thousands of wars were fought on its grounds and thousands of millions had died. As the Empires rose so began the fall of the world.
The beast was not forgot to history after it's capture. Many people had told stories of it and some even claimed to know where it slept. One day an elven traitor decided he wanted to topple the current Elven empire. Even more importantly, he had a plan, one so sinister and so risky that it took him one hundred years to plan.
He decided he would disguise himself as the god Box'b and convince the Leader of the Orc kingdom of Gonld to free the beast. This took much cunning, but he was able to manipulate them. But when the orcs opened the prison of the beast, which is another tale by it's self, it attacked them. None escaped it's wrath, causing Gonld to be the first of many realms to fall.
