Note #5: The Elves

Elves

The main race of Corheln where the elves. Of these he made 2 ranks. The Ahnil and the Ahnil'Eland. The Ahnil'Eland ruled the Elven lands. They had pale, beautiful skin and their eyes shone with great knowledge. They lived to be about five thousand year old, over five times that of the Ahnil.

The Ahnil were a beautiful people and one with nature. They could talk to some animals and where very skilled in the art of Magic. They favored art and culture over tradition and where skilled craft men in jeweling.

They lived in the land that they now call Shalfnah Lohne. When great turmoil and terror struck the elves opened portals using magic to the world. However no all came. There is a great tale behind this involving two Ahnil'Eland brothers and the king of elves. When the king died and the rest of the Ahnil'Eland retreated from the world the brother fought over what to do, almost leading to civil war. In the end one lead bands of elves through the portals into the world. The other held fast against the terror with an army of skilled warrior, in an attempt to save their world.

This broke the Elven people into two rivaling groups, the Ahnil'Shalfnah (Dark elves) and Ahnil'Luma (The light elves). Although light elves do not hate their kindred, the Dark elves blame the Ahnil'Luma for abandoning them to fight alone.

However the dividing was not done, as the Light elves had taken many portal to the world. Not all of them lead to the same location. Those who ended up on islands became great swimmers and sailors. These elves became known as the Ahnil'Nutin (Sea Elves). The elves that ended up in small group in the wilderness became great hunters and trackers. The became friends with animals and lived up in the trees in the forests. These became known as the Ahnil'Slyvie (Wild Elves). The elves who stayed with the Brother or settled grand cities where called Ahnil'Celesa (High Elves).
