Some of you may have read about the Duchy of Boars Head. It is a very inhospitable land in some spots, while other sections flourish. It is a land of war, mystery, magic, adventure, and history. Here I shall tell you about the history of Boars Head.
Originally it was tribal land, controlled by humans who roamed around building stone circled and leaving around obelisks. They eventually settled down, just as dwarven kingdoms formed in the surrounding hills and mountain. This small kingdom was named Boars Head after it's first king, Duglark Dormas a.k.a "the Boar's Head".
The kingdom became a land of raiders. Most men born in the Kingdom would travel to the city of Raider Haven and go pillaging for a month every year. This culture and the rough climate lead to them being known as strong warriors.
Their strength, however, was not enough to keep them free. First came the elves. they came over the mountains on their mission to clean the land of filth and lesser races. But they where stopped just before they conquered the whole kingdom, by the dwarves. The newly forming Dwarven empire came in an took most of the remaining kingdom and pushed out the elves. What remained of the once proud kingdom was a mere earldom on the north point.
But the troubles do not end there. There were many battles in the region of Boars Head in the next few years. Even the Mage Council got in on the wars. Eventually a northern human and dwarven kingdom was formed named Hadrs Aboe. This was, once again, a short lived peace. After only 2 kings the land broke into many warring duchies. The once proud kingdom was swallowed again by the Dwarven Empire. And them came the Giants.
They came in small numbers, yet one of them had the power of a small division. These where the titans, rulers of the giants. They are said to have conquered all of Boars Head in three days. They came from the East. This was the first victory of what would become the Giant Empire. This leads us into an era of Giant rule, the beginning of the Half Giant race, and many secret wars against the giants.
Eventually with the fall of the Giant Empire the Kingdom of Boar's Head was reformed with a new challenge to face, the Weslory Empire. Border wars between the two nations raged for many years. The kingdom of Boar's Head slowly shrunk in size. Them the unthinkable happened: the 10 year old king died, leaving the throne to his sister, the current Empress of Weslory.
This leads us to the end of the Kingdom of Boar's Head and now to the Duchy of Boar's Head. Some of you may wonder why this independent nation calls itself a duchy and not a Kingdom. Well the story goes like this. With the transition of leadership of the Kingdom to Weslory rule rebellions began in Boar's Head. So the Empress pleaded with the Emperor of Weslory to let Boars head rule itself independently. He agreed on the terms that they would stay loyal to Weslory, pay tribute yearly, and that the title of the ruler shall be changed from King to Duke. The Empress agreed to these terms and became the first Duchess of Boar's Head. As Welsory Power has diminished over the years Boar's Head has become more and more free. Maybe one day they will have Kings once again.
